The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has appointed Mahdi Gibril as the Acting Director of Elections and Information Technology (IT), effective immediately.
This appointment follows deliberations and consensus reached at a meeting of the party’s Functional Executive Committee (FEC) held on January 13, 2026.
Gibril, who previously served as Deputy Director of Elections, is expected to oversee and coordinate all activities relating to elections management, electoral strategy, data systems, and information technology operations of the party. His expertise in IT is anticipated to enhance the NDC’s electoral processes.
The appointment is part of the NDC’s efforts to strengthen its organizational structure and strategic capabilities ahead of upcoming elections.
Gibril’s experience and commitment to the party were cited as key factors in his appointment.
