A recent poll conducted by Global InfoAnalytics has revealed that a significant majority of Ghanaians, approximately 70%, believe that the country is headed in the right direction.

This marks a notable increase from the April poll, where 62% of respondents shared a similar sentiment. Conversely, only 20% of voters now believe that the country is headed in the wrong direction.

The poll also shows a surge in approval ratings for President John Dramani Mahama’s job performance, with 73% of voters expressing satisfaction with his leadership.

Notably, the majority of voters across all regions, except Ashanti, approve of his performance, indicating a significant shift in public opinion. Even among voters affiliated with opposition parties, there is a notable level of approval, with 43% of NPP voters approving of the president’s performance, despite 46% disapproving.

The government’s performance has also received strong backing, with 79% of voters rating their performance as excellent, very good, or good. Specifically, 18% of respondents described the government’s performance as excellent, while 61% rated it as very good or good.

Furthermore, the poll highlights widespread approval of President Mahama’s handling of key issues.

Approximately 74% of voters approve of his economic management, while 67% support his efforts in job creation. Additionally, 65% of respondents approve of his initiatives to address the “galamsey” menace.

These findings suggest a growing confidence in the government’s direction and the president’s leadership, with a significant majority of Ghanaians expressing optimism about the country’s future trajectory.
