The Coalition of Muslim Organizations Ghana (COMOG) has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Hon. Alhaji Dr. Murtala Ibrahim Mohammed, Member of Parliament; Hon. Muniru Mohammed; and several government officials and military officers.
In a condolence message signed by COMOG President Hajj Abdel-Manan Abdel-Rahman, the organization extended heartfelt sympathies to H.E. President John Dramani Mahama and the families of all those who perished in the accident.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives… We extend our sincerest condolences,” the statement read.
COMOG described the incident as a devastating blow to the nation, emphasizing the significant contributions of the deceased to Ghana’s development.
“The loss of these dedicated public servants is a great blow to our nation, and their contributions will be deeply missed,” the statement noted.
Special tribute was paid to Hon. Alhaji Dr. Murtala Ibrahim Mohammed for his unwavering commitment to the Muslim Ummah and his active support for unity initiatives within the Islamic community. “We particularly remember his commitment to the Muslim Ummah and his support for Ummah unity initiatives,” COMOG stated.
The organization offered prayers for divine mercy and comfort, calling on Allah to grant eternal peace to the departed souls and strength to their loved ones.
“May Allah strengthen and console the bereaved families and the entire nation during this period of mourning,” the message concluded.
