Livestock and crop farming should be linked so that the livestock and crop farming can coexist, to ensure that the land is fertilised on a year-round basis with organic matter/biofertilisers. Implement deliberate policies that encourage farmers to grow staple crops (such as millet, maize, beans, groundnuts, yam and cassava) that require less amounts of inorganic fertilisers to grow.

A United States based Ghanaian Professor, Stephen Kwaku Asare, has reacted to the Supreme Court’s decision that allows the Deputy Speakers of Parliament to vote during proceedings in the House. 

The National Secretariat of University Teachers Association Of Ghana has announced an indefinite suspension of strike action which lasted more than seven weeks.

The Supreme Court of Ghana has ruled that a Deputy Speaker presiding over proceedings in Parliament has the right to vote on matters and also be counted as part of the quorum for decision making in Parliament.

the Ghana Union of Traders (GUTA) has called on regulators of the forex market to fast-track the proposal of making the Chinese Yuan as the only trading currency when doing business with China. They believe such a move will reduce pressure on the Cedi because imports will not be done with US dollars as most Ghana’s import currently come from China because of their cheaper products and cost. 

Within the past few weeks, prices of fuel at the pumps have consistently rise to hit an all-time high of about GHC8.30 per litre as at last week. Consumers have attributed the spikes to exchange rate escalation and too many taxes. But, NPA believes the discussions with the ministries will focus largely on the possible removal of some taxes on petroleum products.
