A storm of indignation is sweeping across Ghana after a Russian national, identified as Yaytseslav, was accused of secretly recording and publishing intimate encounters with Ghanaian women.

The brazen acts, which have sparked widespread outrage, are being described as a gross invasion of privacy and exploitation.

According to accounts circulating online, Yaytseslav targeted women around Accra, particularly near the Accra Mall area at Shiashie, striking up conversations and inviting them to his hotel room with a simple, yet sinister, line: “Come, I want to show you how I live.”

One of the women, a 29-year-old identified only as Angela, is said to have met him at Accra Mall. Unbeknown to her and others, Yaytseslav allegedly recorded the meetings using wearable camera glasses. Clips from the recordings have since surfaced on platforms including TikTok, Facebook, and Telegram, showing the women inside his hotel room, with their faces clearly visible.

The publication of the videos has sparked widespread anger, with many Ghanaians condemning Yaytseslav’s actions as a despicable exploitation of vulnerable women.

Critics argue that the women were recorded without their knowledge or consent, and that sharing the footage online has exposed them to humiliation and lasting reputational harm.

As the controversy grows, members of the public are demanding swift action from the authorities.

“We urge the Ghana Police to track down the suspect, investigate the allegations, and prevent further distribution of the material,” said one social media user.

The Ghana Police Service has yet to issue a detailed public statement on the matter, but pressure is mounting for decisive action as the videos continue to circulate online.
