The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has introduced a GHC 25 verification fee for the onboarding of vehicles onto its digital registration platform, effective under LI 2180 amendments.
A statement issued by DVLA stated, “The fee supports our public sensitization campaign and the biodata verification needed to migrate manually registered vehicles to a secure digital system, enhancing transparency and fraud prevention.”
Chief Executive Julius Neequaye Kotey has earlier indicated that, “This process is crucial for updating the digital licence plate system, safeguarding ownership records, and ensuring efficient vehicle transfers.”
The GHC 25 charge is strictly for verification and does not include issuance of a Certificate of Title or Vehicle Registration Card (VRC), which are obtained later with the new licence plate.
The Authority urges vehicle owners to submit registration documents, Customs Bill of Entry, and Ghana Card to complete onboarding, noting complaints can be directed to *0203228006* or info@dvla.gov.gh.
